Message from Mr. Tarak Modi on 10th December, 2024
Dear Residents,I wish to thank and acknowledge the efforts of all the committee members of Thane Borivali Tunnel project affected people (mainly residents on Thane side ), I wish to thank you all residents for the continued support and patience shown towards the efforts for addressing and mitigating the blunder in the road design of Tunnel exiting Thane side.
The concerted efforts by office bearers of Neelkanth Greens- Gautam Dighe and Ashutosh, Sanjay Salte , and from Olivia towers Shri Varaskar, and Shri Dhane along with office bearers of Cosmos, satyashankar residency and Mrs Shweta Warke and Prasoon Shah of Neelkanth Woods has finally yielded some desirable outcomes.
Some of you may recall the interview I gave to "The perfect voice," which drew the attention of beaurcracy in TMC. Our joint efforts subsequently led to a meeting with TMC commissioner Shri Saurabh Rao and additional commissioner Shri Sandeep Malvi. Commissioner not only understood our problems, but in the meeting, he personally assured us that he would ensure that there would be a solution and the approach road would either have a flyover or an underpass. I have been constantly pursuing Shri Sandeep Malvi, Additional Commissioner, to help us resolve this issue. I thank him for his valuable guidance.
In the past 2 months, I have met some very senior MEGHA officials in my personal capacity who directly report to board of MEIL and requested them to push our case with consultants, maintain 8 am to 8 pm work schedule etc. but mainly find a solution or else, we Residents will not have any option but to start an on ground agitation as well as negative media campaign.
WE NOW HAVE RESULTS.
I will officially intimate you all in a few days of the final plans that were shown to me but not shared as yet.
They have extended the underground tunnel entrance from the TMC garden (earlier) up until the starting point of Neelkanth greens (end of tunnel and start of underpass). The underpass is along the entire length from Neelkanth greens gate till Satyashankar residency.
Our main junction in front of Neelkanth Woods will NOT be disturbed.
The above is a description of what plans are in the making and likely to be finalized. The additional cost to MMRDA will be only INR 150 crores. They will be normalizing them and presenting to our CORE COMMITTEE for further discussion and assessment.
I am only informing you all in advance and request that everyone HOLD their comments and ideas and suggestions and objections until we get official communication from MMRDA. I shall share the plans on the group, and we shall have a joint meeting of residents at the earliest once we get official intimation.
I personally am extremely happy and satisfied if this outcome, which was shared with me, becomes official ( of course, there is always room for improvement)
