👥 Residents Unite #3 : Meeting with MP Naresh Mhaske and MMRDA + MoM (04-03-2025)

Following the sudden cutting of trees, residents united for the meeting organized with MP Naresh Mhaske, and MMRDA representatives.
The meeting was scheduled for 7.30 PM. However, it did not begin until 8.30 PM and continued until 10.00 PM. Representatives from 5 housing societies—Neelkanth Greens, Neelkanth Woods, Verraton, Satyashankar, and Cosmos Lounge—took turns voicing their concerns.

Following points were addressed

  • The lack of transparency on the planning of the project.
  • A request for the project to be completely underground.
  • Steps for fogging and water spraying will be done intermittently to control dust pollution.
  • A proposal to fix the time for machine work at the site to ensure residents have some peaceful hours each day.
  • A demand for re-plantation of trees cut.
The outcome of the meeting -
  1. Permanent work of Tunnel work will be continued.
  2. Approach road: No permanent work will be done until amicable finalization of the design of the approach road, considering the requisition/grievances of adjoining Residents. This land will be made free of obstructions and a platform will be prepared for assembling the Tunnel Boring Machine.
  3. Residents’ main requirement/grievance is for permanent approach work.
  4. In any case, trees affected will be relocated to statutorily designated land and/or the adjacent premises/complex, if land is made available by the adjacent complex.
Residents are expected to receive updates from the authorities as the project progresses. The meeting, while a step towards addressing residents’ concerns, is just one part of the ongoing dialogue to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome.

Hope for the best, guys! Stay tuned.
